Driving to Gatlinburg? The Tennessee Department of Transportation has begun a major project along Highway 66 (the main route from I-40 before Sevierville). This can at times be very busy and this new construction could make it even more time consuming, so please have patience. You can follow the thread  "Improving 66" on

Winter Warning: US-441 between Cherokee and Gatlinburg is often closed in winter due to snow and ice. You should phone the National Park Service at (865)436-1200. Once you hear a voice, dial extension 631 for road information or extension 630 for a weather forecast. You may need to seek an alternative route.
